V-day breakfast for the kids:
Yet another ice experiment, this time involving small toys:
The other day when Calvin said, "Mom--why is this room kind of clean?" --he meant it in a what's-wrong-with-this-picture sort of sense, and was referring to our main floor sunken living room/carpeted area where all the toys and mess gets concentrated and the majority of playtime happens. I was disturbed for a few reasons: A) Apparently it's an extremely rare occasion for the house to be clean B) A 4-year-old mind was able to discern this, and C) The room was not actually clean, but contained a healthy smattering of toys...albeit the majority of the floor was visible at the time. My list of excuses is as follows:

So many fun happenings! I'm giggling at the beet discussion . . . it's been years since I've had beets, I can't even remember if I like them. Sadly my living room most often looks the same, and unfortunately the front door opens right into it. Unexpected guests (aka the mailman . . .) will never be impressed. But all that mess does mean one thing--your kids are having fun and being creative! That's worth something right? ;o)
I concur with Calvin!!! Looks like quite the obstacle course set up in the family room. I mean, really, couch cushions are meant for so *many* things besides sitting! :) I can't help but notice the chair on *top* of the little trampoline. Just in case you want a little bounce while you sit, I guess? ha!
What fun! I'm glad there are still some mommies that let the kids have FUN in the house! We are often too worried about our houses being so perfect that we don't allow our families to "live" in them! Good for you Anna...they'll (and you!) will always have such fond memories of their childhood!! xxoo
