curly, surly, burly, and girly...and more "Advent-ures"
Well I wish I could say that we've had an amazing and smooth week. But I must admit to a questionable bad attitude in the midst of a too-busy week that coincided with some vomit flying and four exhausted crying crab cakes on my hands. There wasn't too much puking (thankfully), and the nausea I was having was most likely due to dehydration (who forgets to drink water?! Really.) ...anyway, we have been doing a few more Advent activities and trying to get the kids to bed as early as possible. In the meantime, I've finished this little sewing project for my Curly Girl for a Christmas gift: a little fabric artist case.

Cami has been busy with school, picking on her brothers (oh wait, I probably shouldn't mention that...), crafting and decorating the tree with hair bows.
Calvin (a.k.a. Surly) has been a barrel of fun lately. I rather enjoy his food creations
plastic jar hooves...
Even his odd wall hanging contraption:
...which really is quite practical for anyone with an urgent need for a toy coinciding with an itching peppermint craving. He also spontaneously broke out his bike during a driveway-shoveling session for some snowy fun on wheels. And along with the fun, we've had many power struggles and a few too many emotions on display (the angry screaming kind), but we're making progress. I think.
My little burly boy is talking more and has a hilarious and contagious little-man laugh, and is also showing more independence at least with putting on shoes (and that little thing can be a huge help on busy mornings!) Although I believe last week we did leave the house in sweatpants paired with dress shoes. A classy bunch we are. Here he is playing with some peppermint-scented sparkly play-dough:
And Girly has reached a very important day today: her first pony tail! She has also been rolling everywhere, gurgling with her spit-up that she mostly re-swallows, and she interacts very playfully, wildly wagging her head and smiling at her feat of coordination and strength. Little tiger that she is.

LOVE the art set for Cami--that's been on my "to-do" list for years . . . ;o) (one of these days!) And also LOVE the rhyming names you've attached to them all, they do seem quite fitting, given the circumstances. Hope everyone stays healthy for you the remainder of the month!
Enjoyed this posting about Curly, Surly, Burly and Girly :-) You're just too creative, Anna! :-) Ditto on the vomitless week!
Where do you come up with these titles??!! Awesome! Yay for sledding dates with daddy, cute little pony tails, and creative food designs! Glad you're all feeling better and hope you got it all out the way before Christmas! Your artist case is *darling*!
Anna, I'd love to know if you had a pattern for the pencil case? I have a certain girl here who would love one of those!
