happy birthday to my little buddy jude

Ready or not, this little man turns TWO years old today, and is evidencing this lively age in all sorts of ways...

..whether it's his "And 'eyond!" quoting Buzz.Light.Year right before he jumps off of a step or perches up on a table. Or his attitudinal "No Jada!" as he pulls my shirt down, not wanting to feel baby Sis kick, or even look at her for that matter. He also hates going to bed (not surprising), but what is surprising is that he'll often sleep under his bed. (We were relieved to find out he wasn't sneaking out of the house at night.)

He's also been known to announce his urgent need to get down from his high chair after supper, only to climb up on my lap (or lack thereof), to eat my food, backwash in my water cup, etc. And he's convinced there's a scary monster in every dark place. "Mommy, mommy--monder...ight dare."

The terrible-ness that comes with this age has reared it's ugly head a time or two, although I'm convinced his molars have something to do with that. And the way he wraps his short arms around my neck and pecks at me with his runny snout--well, the rude stuff is easily overlooked . ;)

Had a little family party last night to celebrate his big day, complete with a train cake (peanut butter frosting of course), ice cream and a big-kid-present-opening session. I'm not sure Jude actually opened anything himself, but he's enjoying everything he received. ;)

Hopefully he can enjoy the spotlight just a little...there are 3 more birthdays around the corner. ;)
