a girly room and a reading monster

The girls room is FINALLY in order after what seems like months of trying to find time to put it together...purchased the curtains & bedding, and most everything else we had, I maybe painted or sewed or feminized (like the lamp)...Cami's pillows went back into hiding until her birthday.
It will probably never look this neat again...
The only thing I might add is another pillow or two...depending on how frivolous I'm feeling.
Other happenings of the week:
-Jude's 2 year dr. appt--the kid is at the 97th percentile (I sure hope he learns the gentleness concept soon)
-A family lunch date at Cami's school today
-Calvin is growing out of his nap. . .I do believe we'll be keeping him up later and wearing him out as much as possible to continue this necessary portion of our day. And today we worked on reading. He knows all the letter sounds, but is still learning to blend them together. After working on several words, I put r-a-t in front of him and said, "You'll like this one--this is something scary." He confidently points to the word as he enunciates slowly, "M-o-n-s-t-e-r." ..I guess we have a little ways to go.

I clicked on the 1st pic to see more details and WOW! LoVe all you've done. The darling pillows (*love* that owl)....the framed art work (Cami's?) and that picture above the crib is so precious....is that a sketch of Andy holding one of your babies? Perfect and just waiting for that precious pink bundle to join big sister!

Kathy-- my former boss's assistant was a great artist who did that sketch of me holding Cami based on a picture she saw (probably on our blog years ago).

I'm pretty sure Anna's mom would agree that R-A-T and monsters are pretty much the same thing :)

LOVE those pillows (especially the owl!!) What a sweet little room for your girlies!

I'm laughing at Calvin's r-a-t pronunciation. And after having one run across my foot once, they ARE definitely very scary! ;o) I'll be praying he keeps napping for you just a wee bit longer. Emmett is thankfully still nowhere close to being ready . . . he'll nap 3 hours sometimes (I'll send some of those "sleepy vibes" your way!). ;o)

The framed art is truly inspiring to me, Anna! I need to do that with some of Caroline's new watercolor paintings she's doing. The room is GORGEOUS!
