an analysis of the hidden cost of a roll of toilet paper
Awhile back I noticed that our favorite brand of toilet paper started making the rolls significantly shorter, and the cardboard tube significantly larger, equalling much less toilet paper for the same price...not to mention the inconvenience of changing the roll about once a day. *SO* after trying a few different brands, I noticed that some of the thicker ones aren't so good...especially for liberal-handed kids who can independently use the bathroom on their own. ..my beloved middle child had just finished such an episode when I received notification that this accident-prone toilet was "cwogged." Not completely urgent...until I heard the slightly elevated "AND IT'S WEAKING!" I hurried in there (knowing from a past incident that the floor leaks), and the toilet was in fact overflowing a bit. I went for the quick fix, jiggling the knob to loosen that chain thingy stopper inside, but ironically this only accelerated the torrential flood onto the floor. Gushing water everywhere, my socks getting wet, panicked feeling--I quickly shut off the water in time to hear the dripping rainstorm on the lower level. After throwing mounds of towels on the upstairs mess, I found our ficus tree and the infant carseat that I had just disassembled, hand-scrubbed, and reassembled..getting rained on. More towels, wiping walls, and finally setting up this lovely elevated dryer contraption...
...which is perfect for all of our kids who love to climb. So if you hear about stitches in next day or so, you'll know why. In the meantime, I would recommend staying far away from overly-thick toilet papers. And does anyone know a good handyman that could board shut & drywall in this bathroom?

OH NO!!! Not a fun thing to deal with at anytime...but especially on a Monday when you're 8 months pregnant! :(
Hoping everything has dried nicely for you!! It seems you have had your share of toilet troubles! And completely off topic, but was your entry always that green color or did you paint recently? It looks nice whatever the case, but I just didn't remember it from before! ;o)
noooo! I think one of those french bidet style toilets may be in order, but I'm guessing the munchkins would probably find away to get that water moving somewhere else in that bathroom besides cleaning their bottoms! :0
