10 new things of the last week...

1. Calvin's new tricks are both liberating and dangerous at the same time. He can jump but not land, swing on the big swing but not get off safely, and climb the swing set ladder high enough to not get down himself. 2. Cami's semi-English language is hilarious, but she does get the point across. A "hoppo-pipolous" is the large snorting water animal, and Rice Christmas Trees is the cereal you eat for breakfast. 3. Kids playing happily together and an un-destroyed house are mutually exclusive events. 4. The toilet, when properly stocked, can be a wonderful tool to draw your ABC's on the the upright lid with the pasty brown paint. 5. It's frustrating to get halfway to the park, turn around for a potty alarm that turns out to be false. 6. Calvin's trash-man skills are very handy at times, but he also throws toys, dishes and other objects in there while we're not looking. 7. The kids entertaining each other is multi-functional: I am liberated to get things done, and they wear each other out for nice long naps. 8. It's a good time of day when Dad gets home from work. 9. The floor underneath our kitchen table is perpetually disgusting no matter how often it's cleaned. 10. All of the kids' pictures together look like this: There you have it, our recent discoveries of what is the constant experiment of our family life.

Hey...aren'tcha ready for a couple more of those sweet angel faces to come down the line any time now? Maybe they'll bring the "perfect balance" to the mix (no, you're right-they add to the mayhem) ;)

LOVE this post, Anna!

This is a great post, Anna! I can relate to so many---especially #8!!!! :) I love how Cami's pony tail sits on Calvin's head and makes him look like he's sprouted some new locks! :)

Ahhhh....consider it all joy gals! Yes, it's been several years since mine were your's ages, but I can still remember it. Those days, they do fly by!

I was giggling all the way through your list, Anna! Have a few more....and you won't even notice these things!

((smiling and shaking my head))) I love this and makes me think back on the 'old days'. Some of those days I wondered if they would ever outgrow some of that, and all at once...they are gone and spread all over the country!! =) So glad you grabbed some snaps amonst the mayhem... =)

I'm alittle different than Cheryl - I did more than giggle thru it - I laughed out loud! :) And the picture is a kill - first glance makes you wonder what's wrong with Calvin's hair. :) Not to sound like a broken record, but Sandy and Cheryl are right - these hilarious and frustrating times do go too fast (once you're on the other side that is!)

...yes I like the little toupee...I need to teach him to smile like Cami--she'll smile but he won't when they're together.

And thanks for the encouragement, all of you gals! I hear constantly how fast it goes by and need to take it to heart more. They are at really fun ages, even if I joke about the messy stuff. :)
