Jada Kay. What is this mama going to do? I thought you and I had an agreement, about you staying little. That you would stop growing. But, it seems you are rebelliously shooting up before my eyes. The baby stage is gone--and you verbally remind me often of just how big you are getting.
You are a complete chatterbox. You tell jokes that are unimaginably funny (the kind of jokes that only kids can understand). Your giggles make us all laugh, and you seem to hold the family crown for that elusive skill of getting along with all of your siblings. You also love to make an impression with your everyday "SUH-PRIZE!!!" --when you jump out at us, or sometimes hold an object behind your back, having me guess what it is (forgetting that I just asked you to retrieve the said object). We all loved you from the start, and these past four years of you hanging around have been pretty great.
While you personify girlishness and all that it entails--sparkles, rainbows, kitties, and pink & purple ponies--you have a playful side and a zest for life that you share with everyone. You coined the profound phrase, "I love all of you"...that we use often. You love to give random kisses & hugs (in rapid succession). We oblige. You have a crazy-adorable skip-hop that you do around the house, and when you gallop like a pony--mesmerizing.
In the last month you've initiated the family to pink eye, debilitating growing pains, and a purple toenail ready to depart, after a mishap with a heavy stool. (Fortunately the purple toenail goes with your favorite color scheme.) Like it or note, this mama has to realize that your growing up is happening. Right now.
And--while you still refuse to stay little--we are more intent on training you of the truly important things in life. And more than anything, we want you to understand how you fit into God's plan--redeeming fallen mankind through Christ's death on the cross as payment for our sin. It's what we all need--and it's your most pressing need too.
So, underneath those true blues and the true blonde, we pray that you are fostering the right qualities--gentleness, obedience, the will to do the right thing. Complete dependence on the Word of God.
We love you, Baby Girl--we love all of you.

What a great phrase, I will have to start using it at my house: I love ALL of you! So fun to see/hear how Jada has grown. Beth Bartels
I just spent several minutes reading through your bithday tributes and wiping teary eyes! What a beautiful treasure you are giving these sweet kiddos by writing so wonderfully about them at their age and your prayers and hopes for their future. LOVE it! Happiest of happies to your MayDayCrew!
Eek! I really can't believe she's four already! I read this with a big smile on my face--what a dolly! How I miss having a little blonde girl this age in my house--I might have to borrow her sometime! ;o)
