date night with Papa, and craft daze

A quick slideshow of the last few weeks:  Cami was able to go to the Girls of Grace Daddy-Daughter Date Night (since her dad and I had a "must-attend" work event the same evening)
And here's some of the chaos that ensued that night while Gramma babysat:
 Jada & her Papa:
The kids have been craft-crazy these last cold dark weeks of winter.  Lest I give the wrong impression here, I am NOT one of those fun creative moms who dream up cute little activities for the kids.  Rather, they are the experts in that department:
A 3-D fort and theme park made out of paper and lots and lots of tape for these fortunate counting bears (a.k.a. "gummi bears")
Since it's been hovering between 0 and 20 degrees outside, Jada thought it would be a good idea to put on her swimsuit.  She's been quite the busy bee lately, having recently painted her toenails, along with her entire foot with purple nail polish--not forgetting to highlight her hair.  And the carpet.
She also sings and sings and sings--mostly the ABC song, often to all sorts of different tunes.  When we're out and about, she'll often shout to strangers in a somewhat rude way, "What's your name?!"
And she also left some prominent kitty scratch marks on this big brother's face (he's pictured here as "Farmer Jude" with his pitchfork):
Jude's idea of good clean fun--I was unaware of the suds-fest until they had gone through a full bottle of hand soap and generously splashed on the floor of the bathroom:
This is Jude's 5-legged octopus named Jimbo:
And his "L-is-for-Lion"  ...today he has plans to make a "Z-is-for-Zebra"
Thankfully warmer and sunny weather is here to save me from unsticking stickers & tape from every surface of our home and cleaning up tiny little snippets of paper.  I don't mind them being so industrious with creative endeavors...but we will be getting outside a little more while the weather's nice.

Looks like you're beating cabin fever in the best of ways! I'm always amazed at the magical powers a few rolls of scotch tape can have. ;o) I LOVE all of their creations and how fun that Cami could take her grandpa to the date-night!

BRING ON THE SUN!!! Love all the "adventures" your kiddos create and your joyful attitude in the midst of them all. You're a dear!
