My little sweet cake. What a blessing you've been in your short life already. Two years ago, you entered the world and completed our family. Only the Lord knew just exactly who would fill that spot....and He gave us you. With your bright eyes and golden curls and peachy skin. You looked just like the big kids, yet you had your own special something. You're often the source of laughter around here...especially when the kids try to get you to say a new word or perform a new stunt. Having you around is just plain fun.
You love your big sister and brothers, and you are eagerly exploring everything around you and are especially delighted with animals. We'll often catch you meowing, or shouting out excitedly over a bunny or a "Leo" (squirrel) that you see in the backyard. Every day you're coming up with new words and are communicating more clearly...although you still use you're nondescript "nano" ...the catchall for when you can't get out the right word. While you're growing and changing and exploring your world...
I am soaking it all in and studying you.
The last couple of months have been a little rough...your normal cheerfulness has been overcome with some toddlerhood attitudes. But already you're responding to discipline and are learning some important growing-up rules.
And even though being this age is difficult at times, I'm seeing in you a willingness to obey, and to 'fall in line' where you're supposed to be.
Our prayer for you is that you would turn from your sins and trust in Christ and His death as payment for your sins...all of life pales in comparison to this. May you come to grips with this truth soon.
