our week's palette in colors, flavors, textures

The kids have been busy growing up lately, and this little lady has especially proved helpful with chores and responsible in getting things done.  She's been diligently practicing piano (at my prodding recommendation most of the time), and is nearing the end of another book.
Calvin has been as spirited as ever and can sometimes be caught roaring violently at Baby Sis for the expected tears he gets from her.  He's all the more delighted with himself when that reaction comes.  He's also been helping with our beefed up chore routine and is very good at getting his homework done right away, and reminding me it's time for a snack every hour of the day.  He's pictured here with his utensil of choice when I caved and told him he could have 'a bite' of ice cream:
Jude's becoming a gentlemanly older brother--most of the time, *ahem* (except when he's taking lessons from Calvin) and was kind enough to take Jada worm hunting last week...here she is anxiously awaiting the treasure:
The stash:
Pretty worm:
Jude's art supplies that he got for his birthday were hijacked by the older kids...but he did get a little painting done:
Another creation of his:  a lego leopard, and accompanying giraffe:
A shot of the seasonal confusion around here...don't forget those goggles!
And speaking of goggles, this little dress-up doll has been decorated by Big Sis for some sort of disaster-preparedness pageant, I believe:
When she's not being dressed up, she's self-accessorizing with whatever is around.
The little peanut is rather sickly at the moment with some sort of sore throat/fever bug...she tearfully announced at 4:15 this morning she was "all done" with it and would have no more.  Perhaps this will translate to a long nap today?

Hope you're having a creative and industrious week as well...and staying healthy!

Hmm, I kind of like Jada's idea of "all done" before the day has even gotten started. ;o) Hope she is feeling better! Love the painting, and the worm hunting, and Calvin's choice of spoon looks just about right. ;o)

I am so loving the picture of Cami at the piano--what a sweet memory that picture will be as she grows and plays through the years. And Calvin's idea of what a bite of ice cream should look like is, in my opinion, perfect! Cracking up at the goggles---Nathan used to wear goggles with practically every costume or outfit he put on. Such a riot.
