My littlest lady has taken to cruisin, strutting around the living room with these wheels:
Cami has grown up a lot in the last month, learning the important work-before-play principle. She has homework most days, and we're trying to keep the piano lessons going since she's nearing the end of her first book. After her 'work' is done, she LOVES to play outside, digging in the dirt. Here she is with her girl worms...as you can see there's a tiny pink flower in their house. Later she adorned the wormhouse a girly hairband. And although she partakes in such tomboy activities, she still makes interesting drawings, and recently conducted a family survey as to whether we would like to slide down a rainbow. (The pollster...pollstress, rather, received several 'yes' answers in case you were interested...)
Jude--still enjoyable as ever--has fun playing monsters, jumping off the couch, and performing many unapproved stunts. He puts a fair amount of time in the sandbox. And he recently told me that he saw an "inbisible" spider out in the front yard. Hmm.
...and then there's Calvin.
...whom I love dearly and am ever-so-thankful for. Who (although he SHOULD have known better), came into the house in such a state and up the stairs to find me, excitedly declaring, "Mom--look at me!"
How does this happen, you ask? I thought the same thing.
He was digging in the dirt, digging for worms...he was digging "really hard" and all of a sudden he noticed his entire body covered in mud. ?! Don't ya hate when THAT one sneaks up on you?
Aside from such laundry-generating projects, he has been a bit of a one-sock-wonder:
He normally wouldn't think of wearing socks--it's an extra step and annoyance in getting ready, they are uncomfortably hot, not to mention it would really hinder his "smell my feet" prank. But he's recently acquired an owie on that foot, preventing him from comfortably walking sockless. On top of that, his flip-flops were irreparably damaged (a real shocker in our household....) So he was forced to put on a sock. Of course I suggested wearing a pair...but no. This is a much more reasonable solution.

Love all the kiddo quirkiness--all so unique. ;o) I'm having a love/hate relationship with mud right now--love all the fun, HATE HATE HATE the ridiculous amount of clean-up. The dirt is winning . . .
I chuckled all the way through this. :-)
