just play[ing] nice

I've been thankful lately for the turnaround Calvin's attitude has taken. The other day he woke up from his nap a bit surly, snarling and snapping at anything near him (which unfortunately is somewhat normal)...but after being outside a bit, and listening to Jude begging me to push him, he stepped up and filled the important office of the pusher. They both enjoyed it (and notice the bare feet--in January!!) And yesterday I turned around, and literally one minute later the boys had constructed this: ...and conspired to snatch these off the counter. My two Peter Pipers pigging out on pretty peppers: And I had to throw this shot of Miss J in. She's happy most of the time, except when Mama is near and/or just set her down (pictured here), and/or is present and within eyeshot too close to meal time. But she soon gets over it and decides to roll/scoot around.
And here's her big brother so chivalrously taking care of her in the block-selecting department.
It's a good stress-reliever to watch your kids be nice to each other. . .when it works out, that is.

Yes on the bare feet in January!! (looks like we may have seen the end of that though . . .) I have never in all my life seen kids eat peppers like they were apples--that in and of itself deserves some sort of mother award. And I really can't believe how big Jada is getting--I keep thinking she should be around five months or something--such a cutie (even when sad!). ;o)
