The official report: kids travelled well. The van floor in a week's time accumulated layers of papers, books, toys, crayons, dirty socks, coats, burp rags, shoes, empty water bottles, and random pieces of travel gear. Littlest lady's diaper did not contain explosions which happened just before arriving at the vacation home, and later to a greater extent, just before arriving home. Carseat disassembly was required.
The unexpected: the tummy bug that worked its way through most of us.
The funnies: Cami's one-liner, "Is [aunt] Allison a grown-up?" ...and Calvin's dirty sock 'pendant' hung above his carseat, not discovered till after we arrived home.
The memories: hiking together and carrying little ones, spending Thanksgiving together and hanging around the very large vacation home. A fun time. :)

The hiking looks really neat!! I love that huge fallen tree! And I completely commiserate on the trashed van, Josh spent nearly half a Saturday going through ours and we have been forbidden to eat anything in there ever again . . . Well, not completely forbidden, but hightly encouraged to immediately clean up our messes. ;o) And I found my dirty sock supply too!! Wonder what that's all about?
