nis, nat, and nee udder. . .with lots and lots of butter

Have you ever wondered what happens when you let a hungry little boy set the table?
Well now you know. . . . my little middle child has grown up quite a bit the last several months. Previously my highest-maintenance child (for WAY too long), he's been incredibly helpful, carrying out chores and tasks, helping to set the table, pick up toys, and at times being really sweet to his little bro: He can still let his 'spunk' get out of control once in awhile, and decide to bully or sneakily get away with something awful, but we're seeing big improvements, and that's what's important. He still is incredibly talkative and thoughtful, which is such a fun thing to witness--his young little mind at work...he still has a bit of a lisp and instead of the "th" sound he'll sub "n" ..saying "nis" or "nat" ..and it's just way too enjoyable to correct. He'll often reason and come up with complex thoughts, confidently 'explaining' things to me--why things are the way they are--or something to that nature, with big eyes and a bigger nod of his head, so excited about learning and figuring things out. I can tell that he'll be my heavy-conscienced kid when I hear him warn/remind Cami & Jude of the rules (although he could stand to remind himself at times!).
I'm trying to flash forward a few months what kind of big brother he'll be to a little girl...and Jude & Cami too, how they'll act. It's fun to think of how the dynamic in the house might change a little. It might mean keeping Jada in a protective bubble till all the bouncing and house-quaking subsides, but fun to envision nontheless.
Hope you all have a smooth-as-butter week. . .just don't forget to lick the knife.

That is awesome your Calvin-man is becoming such a good helper! It is ALWAYS wonderful to see growth, particularly in those ummmmmm *more-challenging* kinds of children. ;o)

(And I know what you mean on misspelled words--I find them mortifying, particularly when I find there-their-they're used wrong, which I seem to be doing a lot lately. Let's just chalk it all up to "mommy-brain.") ;o)

I LOVE the picture of Calvin and Jude "reading" a book together! They're all snug in their tight little corner; Jude must be content as he's enjoying his thumb; and Calvin is all animated with the book. :-) Would love to hear what Calvin is saying! :-)
