tuesday crafternoon

Because there are not enough daily messes around our house, we broke out the flour and salt today to make some home-made clay: The recipe was simple: 4c. flour, 1c. salt, 2T. veg oil, and 1 1/2c. water. This recipe is something like playdough, but dries out pretty quickly...brush with egg wash and bake in 300 degree oven for an hour. It must taste okay, at least for Jude "the vacuum." Here are the fun treasures we made: You might recognize B.uzzL.ightyear (okay, maybe not...), Olivia the Piggy, a flower, snake, hot dog, and rainbow...and the blob, which is Calvin's very own special piece of art.
I hope to have many more 'crafternoon' times in the future...in the meantime I'm going to get our confetti'd kitchen under control...
