Calvin's insatiable curiosity has been the source of many tears lately for Jude. In the past day or so, he has ridden him like a horse, shoved and manhandled him numerous times, spanked him with a spoon, lifted and dropped him off the step into our sunken living room, and pushed him down a half a flight of stairs. Twice. Thankfully Jude has survived all this without much of an injury, except for the perpetual red mark on his face from the most recent tumble. I guess I expected this at some point, but it's still shocking to see such an enthusiastic violent streak out of my 2 1/2-year-old...especially since he's been unusually cheerful lately. We WILL be working on gentleness...in the meantime, I'm off to search craig.s.list for a full-impact body suit in a 9-month size.

Which is why God made Jude nice and sturdy. Glad he hasn't been harmed *too much* in the process of building a strong brotherly bond. ;o)
Bless your heart!! I know what you're going through. I remember when Evan was a baby and Luke would show his 'brotherly love' in less than gentle ways! It's challenging to protect the baby and also nurture gentleness in the big brother! Someday, Jude will be able to give Calvin a taste of his own medicine and then you have a whole different issue to deal with. :) Hang in there! You're a great mama!
I guess it's a good thing Jude isn't the baby from the Incredibles ;) That was the first thing I thought of with your last sentence... first thinking that might be an advantage; on further thought, no!
