For the last two years my Calvinator daily or sometimes hourly transformed into a raging green monster whenever his temper set him off, and would cry at a deafening decibel level for an indeterminate length of time. I had tried a million times to adjust his diet, keep a napping schedule, take away sugary foods, add supplements, and disciplining. I pretty much gave up on trying to make him feel better. It was a trial allowed by the Sovereign God and something completely out of my control. And then last week a big answer to prayer came in a friend giving me some advice that helped her out with her son....
So I've been giving him acidophilus/probiotic blend (or plain yogurt mixed with a little flavored yogurt) 3x a day for the past week or so...and his improvement is downright shocking. Of course we still have issues now and then, and of course he still loves to torment his big sis and terrorize his little bro. But we aren't spending the day expending every ounce of energy in trying to keep peace and normalcy in the house. He obviously feels MUCH better. And we've had time to work on things like dressing himself and doing little chores...and singing (he LOVES to sing!)
All this to say....it is a HUGE answer to prayer, and all from the Lord's hand...just as He allowed Calvin to be the way he was the last two years. Trials and blessings are always from the the Sovereign Lord. We are studying James 1 in our women's group at church: "Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." So, praise the Lord when things are bad and praise the Lord when things are good. He is ALWAYS in control even in the midst of trials.

What awesome news Anna!!! Last spring I had gotten to hear a lady speak about how dietary issues can be the root of some behavioral things (kids uncomfortable in their own skin). Which reminded me a lot of Jackson. But I had kind of forgotten all about it. Hope things continue to improve--that's just what you need when stuck inside day after day after day . . . ;o)
Thank you for this reminder Anna. In the midst of trial again up here, it's so good to hear this over and over.
And sooo happy you've found something that helps your little man. Doesn't it just make you wonder what our little people go through b/c they can't articulate their discomfort? So thankful for our Sovereign God, who knows all things and acts according to His good will! I as looked out my back window this morning I was calling out to the Lord, and was reminded that not only does he know about every leaf that still remains on our trees, he also knows the very number of hairs on my head. Doesn't it make you just want to fall on your face and worship sometimes?
love you sweet girl!
What a wonderful praise item and I appreciate the encouragement you give by your Godly attitude through all this!!
So glad to hear you found a new option that helped!! And I SO appreciate the reminder about the Lord being in control - we all need to hear that reminder. :-)
