five

My guy.
My ornery-eyed, sweet & sour, always-thinking-about-something little guy.
You have things all figured out in that mind of yours.  You think and reason beyond your age...you love to wrestle with your brother, and you're incredible on your bike.
You are an absolute fireball.
And yet some days I wish you could be this age forever.
You have more personality than I know what to do with.  You make me laugh every day.  And you've been the source of more blood, sweat and tears (on my part) than the other kids combined.  But even in your difficult moments, I love you truly--more than words can say.  By God's grace, He has been shaping me through your young life. . . and I pray He is shaping you too.  May you grow up seeking Him first and pursuing things of eternal value.
I know one day--sooner than I'd like--you'll be grown up and you'll walk out of the house your own man.
But for now we get to enjoy you with all your colorful spunk.
Love you, Buddy.  xoxo

Happy, happy day to your big 5 year old!! Hope he has a great day! p.s. I loved what you said about the Lord shaping *you* through the mothering of this little guy. I've found motherhood to be more of a refining process than I ever dreamed it would be. :)

Happy birthday to your handsome young sir!! Hope you all enjoyed a lovely day of celebrating! And yes, on the Lord knowing just the personalities we need to grow and stretch us--one of motherhood's many surprises! ;o)
