Goldilocks and the Three Bears

I've been awful about updating lately and not for any one reason, other than that I'm short on time. My little Goldilocks has been eating solids 3 meals a day. I had forgotten how much extra work it is to always have good organic homemade food ready for her, spoon feed her, and clean her up a bit...on top of feeding the Three [Hungry] Bears...they're all worth it, of course... just adds to the busies. Here's Jada playing with her new sippy cup: ...and gettin a little cross-eyed. And speaking of bears, Calvin has been a barrel of fun high-maintenance intensity lately. I'm trying to train the grizzly out of him and get a little more teddy bear qualities developed...it'll come eventually. I hope.
(And on a side note, I came across thet BEST chocolate pudding knock-off using avocado as the base...but that's another posting.)
Cami Bear is zipping right through her 1st grade year and enjoying school very much. She has been playing piano more and still creating interesting pictures, story books, and paper objects to enjoy.
And my little buddy Jude. I was very excited to share that he is finally potty trained...but alas, as soon as I started making our success public, he seemed to undo his progress...he still is in briefs all the time (except while sleeping)...so hopefully things will improve soon. He also seems to be nearing the point of outgrowing his nap (!) ...but I think it was due to his ingeniuty in realizing he could get up and take all kinds of toys to bed and just play for the extent of naptime. So we're working that too. Let's see, I could also mention the crumbly muffin scattering game that he likes, or the tale of the toilet that was stuffed too full with kleen.exes and flushed too many times. ..but that would take too long.
I keep reminding myself that I'll have a little more time after this busy baby year--at which point I will promptly and coincidentally mourn the fact that there is no more a baby in the house. I know I'll miss this precious and incredibly busy--but incredibly blessed--stage of life.

That's so true Anna--I've been thinking about how a few short years ago my boys were the biggest mayhem-makers and without me really realizing it they have (for the most part) outgrown the worst of it. And so far Owen hasn't seemed intrigued by the same things that were so enjoyable to them (mainly the graffiti!). ;o)

Yay for Jude and the potty! I think a bit of regression is completely normal--all of mine have done that at some point.

Keep on!! You're a great mama and your bunch is blessed to have you taking care of all the details for them. ;o)

Squeel! I'm totally in love with Jada's top-of-the-head-ponytail and bow!!!!!!

Keep trusting the Lord for the wisdom to deal with your munchkins. I know it can be wearying sometimes, but you are doing the best thing for them---loving, training, disciplining, being there. Hang in there!
