mommy stay-cation

The kids are headed out west to stay at my folks during a men's retreat that Andy is going to...Calvin has just completed a 2-day puking spree and is all better and ready to go...this leaves me at home alone for a day and a half. I hate to admit to reality, but I really enjoy these kinds of vacations--no schedule to follow, no real cooking, and plenty of time to work on various projects of my choosing. I never waste this kind of freedom on cleaning, since that can happen (in theory) while the kids are home. Up on the agenda for this weekend is lots and lots of sewing (will I ever finish those quilts for the boys?) and perhaps a few errands. I'll meet up with the crew Sunday to gather the herd back home and...a nice little bonus after weekends like this is the extra-long naps I'll get out of the munchkins afterwards. Thanks, Mom! :)
