1st week of summer

Well we have our first semi-successful week of summer behind us with many more fruitful ones to come I'm sure. A month ago I had all these grand plans for the kids: swim lessons, book-reading, ABC learning, outdoor bike rides, and some hymn singing...not the scattering projects and clutter bombs that are going off everywhere I look...
And Jude--bless his heart, the poor kid is apparently starving. Because any shred of semi-edible food is gleaned off the floor for a snack, along with whatever is rotting in the garbage, and recently he's introduced sand and dirt into his diet:
Cami has been busy with all sorts of crafting and has started some woodworking:
(I know my dear mother-in-law will appreciate this since her second-born child carved an interesting word that he noticed in the public bathroom..and his initials...into their deck.)
And unless you think that all my kids do all day long is make messes, here is a sweet moment caught on camera:
Maybe the coming weeks will go smoother...in the meantime, I have a serious cushion fort to disassemble...

I'm sitting in the same boat here, wondering where May has gone and how I'm ever going to "get myself together. " ;o) I've never had a kid engrave any wood . . . maybe she can start a trend and some day you will have a collection of all your kids' handwriting at various ages? It just could end up being your most favorite piece of furniture. ;o)

You need a puppy to clean up that floor! hee hee! I've never had engraving done but my bed--handmade by my daddy--has a couple of hammer dings from a certain "helpful" little man from about 5 years ago! Love the moment you captured with the brothers!!!
