a scared Bell and other fun tidbits

I've come to terms with the fact that the drawing skills of my not-yet-5-year-old have surpassed my rudimentary doodles. I've also been recently reminded that she holds her writing utensil incorrectly, with her 4th finger instead of the 3rd. I've been guilty of this crime for most of my life (so therefore cannot enforce change with a clean conscience)...and since she's been drawing for about 3 years of her own life, I figure it's a lost cause. By the way, this is a picture of Prin.ess.Bell, who is scared because Cami and Calvin jumped out and scared her...bare.shoulders and all. She's also taken the liberty of creating her own words, such as "fridger" (one who takes items and places them in the fridge), and "snowflaker" (one who tears leaves off of the bush to shred and toss up in the air for pretend snow). And she was excited that she figured out all by herself how to spell VVS (you know, as in summer VVS camp).

Calvin is learning new words too. He helped me pick "daddy lions" out of the grass the other day, and in response to the question "how tall are you?" he replied, "Um, big and a half!" He also saw a picture in a book that looked like the K.ix cereal (nevermind that it was the artist's rendering of the sun)..it actually did look a bit like the corn cereal. "Hey, a Kix!" He quickly caught his improper grammer and corrected himself. "Look, a Kick!"

Jude's little quirks are coming out too. He has a hilarious growling "HA-HA-HA" laugh. And I'm pretty sure he thinks his mouth can hold an infinite amount of food--especially LARGE bites of banana (go figure). When he's not crazy about the food in front of him, he nonchalantly and underhandedly chucks the food at the floor...which later he begrudgingly eats when he realizes supper is done and he's still hungry. At least he's cleaning up his own mess.

Grammy's right.....these posts are fun! I'm sure to the gmas they are even more precious! ;) I love the drawing with the shoulders. Tell Cami that Teacher Mark sure enjoyed the pictures she made for him last night! :)

Renae held her pencil wrong, too....she was also a prolific artist, so I think these great artists of ours know more than the "experts" do. I love, love Cami's drawings (as you know) and get such a kick out of them and how she thinks. :-)
