the happenings

Well we've had a fun December week enjoying the pretty snow on the ground, ice on the trees and now a nice sunny day to melt a little. Jude has been expanding his long list of tricks, the most recent pulling himself up. And I was surprised to discover that he is able to do the splits--A L L the way down...to his unfortunate realization. His little voice is getting louder..most of the time a happy yelp, amping up the attention-getting competition with Calvinator in the house.
Cami is modeling a 'Christmas kleenex' in the picture above (note the bow decoration on it)...and she's been intrigued by having babies. She'll say things like, "does it hurt to have a baby?" and "when Jude grows up we can have another baby and when that baby grows up we can have another baby and when that baby grows up..." (this is her idea, not ours). She's put in her order for a girl baby so she can have a sister, and at one point asked me if we could have a baby "right now" just so she could go to the hospital to see the piano that plays by itself.
She is still interested in anything and everything...and can be entertained endlessly by play-dough. We were thrilled to discover the fun of making our own play-dough...super soft and customizable...this was a peppermint batch, which later got a few sparkles from some glitter I picked up. (Thanks for the ideas, Janna!)
And I don't have a recent picture of Calvin, but he's as spunky as ever and never dull...he's still talking too much and is enamored by the snow outside. He says his favorite color is green and his favorite food is red. He's still plenty awnry at this age and doesn't hand out smiles for free. His new song--the "cooperation song" that my dad taught him...well, let's just say it's not sung real often. :) All in all, this spirited bunch keeps me busy ..and smiling.

What a pretty tissue! ;o) Glad you are having play-dough fun--as long as there is play-dough on hand I believe we can get through any day. (And you have fun with all those future pregnancies--YIKES!!!)

I know how Cami feels, I want that for myself, too! The kids are both asking for a baby now!

Jude is getting so big!

and isn't it funny what kids remember about the hospital when they visit their new sibling. Luke could have cared less about his baby brother---he just wanted to go to the little snack room! :)
