Since Jude passed the 6 month mark, it was time to start on solids...he had his first rice cereal today. I have some butternut squashes on hand to puree, also bananas, sweet potatoes and avocadoes for him to try soon. I didn't realize what an exciting event this was, but the kids were all worked up, wanting to help and asking about the baby food that was setting out for a few days. Here they are, all ready to go:

And this is Calvin's hand 'helping' again. His aim was a bit off, nearly setting off the gag reflex...but all the cereal stayed down...well, what got IN stayed down. :)
Poor Jude, I have a feeling he is going to be the object of so many experiments in the future...

Oh goodness, I'm just laughing out loud at the picture of him gagging with food everywhere. I'm so glad you have such great help. Poor Jude. ;o) What a hilarious memory this will always be!
And like an expert mom, you knew to do the first round of feeding minus the clothes---easier clean-up! :)
.....only sound effects would have made these photos any better. :) Thanks for sharing!
I agree with your folks - would love to have heard all the "fanfare" going on! :-)
