Well the new thing of the week is Cami learning to sound out and read words. She still needs help, especially with the vowels, but she gets so excited when she realizes the word she's just read. Gramma got her going last Saturday when they were in town, and now she wants to work on it every day. *sigh* My baby girl is growing up..and *another sigh* I'm realizing that I only have 2 short months before she starts preschool. ...but I'm excited for that too, she is going to love it.

Good job, Cams!!
makes me think of Ray trying to read a label awhile ago.."Mom, look! It says soup!" (the word printed was CUP, but he thought the c should have the ssss sound and the u should have the uuu sound. It took me awhile to figure out where he was going with that one, but we were quite amused :)
....and yet one more thing Cami can come tutor Nathan in. lol! Maybe it's a 'girl' thing or a 'first born thing' but he is not motivated to read or pump on the swing. ah, well!
Yay Cami!!! That is so exciting! There is something magical to me about seeing a kid "put it together." (oh, and check out "Bob books" at Amazon, they make the perfect "sound-outable" first readers--Barnes and Noble carries them too)
Good job Cami!! You'll be reading your little brothers books very soon now!
And I'm quite sure you'll enjoy YOUR time when she's in pre-school....only problem is...
NOW you start car-pooling! Ugh!
