calvin's antics

Calvin is growing up in a lot of ways these days. He's been talking more and more and makes me laugh every day with with the words he tries to articulate. Every morning he wants grax (flax) for breakfast. If he's going to lick something off of his finger he shouts "yick it! yick it!" Then when he "yicks" it, he shouts, "yike it! yike it!" He has a lisp that's very obvious when he begs for fruit thnackth, and often makes a 1-syllable word into two...as in Baby "Ju-edd" who is "cu-ett."
He's more interested in dressing and undressing himself, and this morning got his jeanshorts on all by himself..backwards. After getting very frustrated he gave up and put them on his head. He also imitates Cami in the card-making department when he scribbles on paper and hands it to me saying "car-you-car-you" (card for you). When I get excited over this act of kindness he gets a bashful smile on his face. He loves to help in the kitchen (where helping is snacking while sitting on the counter). And he's learning his colors too..."Wed, Oranthe, Lellow, Geen, Boo and Pupple."

Yay for trying to dress himself--I don't believe Emmett has even attempted yet. ;o) I love hearing the language emerge--it's one of my favorite things about this age. Too, too cute. ;o)

Keep track of these sayings - Calvin will get a kick out of them himself someday! :-)

What a precious memory...and somehow we need to be printing some of this stuff out for our memoires!!
So sweet to hear he's working on getting those words out clearly! They grow up too quick!

Darling! I love the layout on this page, too. The way you used the different fonts in journaling is just great. I think I may 'borrow' that idea when I finally kick myself back into gear on my scrapbooking.
