This was my attempt at building a playhouse for the kids..since we had a nice big box from our headboard, I broke out the scissors and duct tape and went to work, making it complete with a functional door and windows. As with all of my DIY projects, it ended up much differently than I had envisioned, but the kids have big imaginations, so no harm done. I wanted to let the kids decorate it with markers, but I held off since we have too many flat surfaces in our house that could be confused as a blank canvas. I don't want Calvin to see the potential of markers or other permanent coloring devices. (On this note, did you know that dry erase markers make the most permanent stains on fabric? We have a few embellishments on our bedspread that bleach, rubbing alcohol, carpet stain remover, and WD.40 would not take out.)

Very creative & cute!
Hey--I saw your headboard in Better Homes and Gardens this month--and they were putting if up against a purple wall (more of a lighter shade though). So apparently you have good taste. ;o)
This is F.U.N!!!! Good job, momma!! What is it about a box that brings out such fun?? Where's Calvin in this one? Hiding inside the box in his bday suit? tee hee
Their daddy loved big boxes too! A lot of free fun!! =) Always love Cami's sweet smile..like her pretty mama's!! =)
HEY...I have a pic somewhat like this one!!! I'll have to dig it out and post it if I remember! Dennis even painted the girls...I think? White with shutters?? I might be making it all up..I dunno.
Too cute!
I've looked a couple of places...not sure where it landed. Wonder if Amy has it? Hmmm, Amy??
